Flower Essences FAQ
What are Flower Essences?
Flower Essences are liquid extracts to restore harmony and infuse positive energy into the subtle energy matrix that forms the foundation of our physical life. They are used to address profound issues of emotional well-being, soul development, and mind-body health. Like homeopathic remedies, Flower Essences are a unique vibrational signature. They are highly dilute from a physical point of view, but have a subtle power as potentized substances, embodying the specific energetic imprint of each flower.
Flower Essences can help us recognize, resolve or release different conditioned ways of perceiving the world and can help us experience greater well-being in our lives. They stimulate the stagnant system that is stuck in patterns of negative emotions. The action of these Essences is to raise our vibrations and open up our channels for the reception of the spiritual self, to give ourselves the particular virtue we need and clear out the fault that is causing the harm.
How do we make Flower Essences?
Wood Botanicals Flower Essences work with the subtle life force of plants to support emotional balance and overall well-being. These flower essences are traditionally created by placing fresh blossoms in a bowl of pure water and leaving them in sunlight or moonlight, often with quartz to help amplify and hold the energetic imprint of the plant. They are part of a gentle, non-invasive system of vibrational remedies that honor the natural intelligence of the plant world.
Each essence is made with love, gratitude, and prayer, and we ask permission from the flower as a way of honoring its spirit and medicine. All ingredients are ethically wildcrafted, lovingly grown, or sourced from trusted suppliers. The remedies are prepared using non-poisonous flowers, pristine water, and natural light. Because they work on an energetic level rather than a chemical one, they are non-toxic, non-habit forming, and safe for adults, children, infants, and animals.
What is the history of Flower Essences?
Flower Essences were first brought to the attention of the Western world by Dr. Edward Bach of England, a visionary physician, bacteriologist, and homeopath. In the 1930s, during a walk through the dew-covered fields of Wales, Bach became inspired by the energetic qualities of flowers and their potential to support emotional and spiritual healing. Soon after, he began preparing Flower Essences and using them with his patients, discovering their profound effects on emotional balance and well-being. His work helped establish Flower Essences as an important contribution to holistic health and introduced a new way of understanding healing that goes beyond purely physical medicine. Since then, and with the growing interest in gentle, non-invasive, energy-based therapies, Flower Essences have continued to expand and evolve worldwide. Working with them invites us to move beyond the idea that āmore is betterā and instead trust the subtle power of nature.
The work of Japanese researcher Dr. Masaru Emoto further deepened our understanding of water and intention. Through his studies, he photographed water crystals and observed how their structure changed in response to thoughts, prayers, words, music, and environmental influences. Polluted or negatively influenced water formed distorted, chaotic shapes, while water exposed to love, gratitude, and prayer formed beautifully symmetrical crystals. His bookĀ Messages from WaterĀ brought worldwide attention to the idea that water is deeply responsive to consciousness and intention.
This understanding aligns beautifully with the philosophy of Flower Essences. At Wood Botanicals, we honor water as a living carrier of intention and vibration. When flowers are infused into water with love, prayer, and respect, their energetic imprint is held within the water. When we take a Flower Essence, we invite this healing vibration to interact with the water within our own bodies, supporting shifts in our emotional and mental states and gently restoring harmony from within.
How are they used?
It is recommended to take your chosen Flower Essence 2-3 times a day. Some days you may take them more frequently and other days not at all. The remedies can work immediately in certain situations, but for long-term issues it may take a few weeks to see a change. The effects are cumulative. From our own experience, is that your heart will prompt you to take Essences when you need them. Before taking the Essence we recommend you center yourself. Close your eyes, take some deep breaths grounding your energy with gratitude in your heart. While taking your Essence, say the recommended affirmation.
How should you store a Flower Essence?
Store Flower Essences out of direct sunlight, in a moderate or cool environment. Do not refrigerate or store in close proximity to essential oils, incense or other products with a strong aroma.
